Yahoo Music: You had to be a "mentioner"

By now we've all seen Rebecca Black's "Friday" video. I won't post it because well, I'll watch it five more times if I do. If you've seen it, it's fair to say that we all know what's going on here. Apparently, Lyndsey Parker at Yahoo Music thought she had to spell it out for us. She felt the need to write a scathing review of "Friday," and Rebecca herself.

Hey Yahoo!, Lyndsey, we all get why this is funny. There's no need to rip on a poor 13-year-old girl (she doesn't just take on the song, but the singer herself). I'll be the first to admit that had YouTube existed when I was 13, there'd likely be a few more videos out there with a similar level of craft, starring a butt-cutted, pleated khakied, THIS GUY. Of course, my songs would have a few more (a lot more) dragon references, and perhaps a robot costume. The point is, Lyndsey, now you're 27 and have Animal Collective on repeat in your Brooklyn Walk-up, but you didn't have a stage mom and the (unfortunate) ability to broadcast your ideas to 2+ Million people when you were 13. If you had, maybe you'd be in the back of that convertible.

Sure, have a laugh, but for goodness sakes shut up about it - we get it.
